The Brief The client approached me with a vision to create an app that helps people explore their cities in a more meaningful way. They didn’t want just another fitness tracker; they wanted something that made movement social, emotional, and fun. Their goal was to build a community where walkers, runners, cyclists, and skaters could not only track their routes but also connect through shared discoveries. My task was to turn that idea into a brand that feels bold, playful, and inclusive, something that captures the everyday joy of exploring your city and sharing those moments with others. The Solution I built the brand around a simple but powerful idea – “Movement meets community.” The logo combines a clean, flowing wordmark with a looping icon that represents motion, direction, and curiosity. Together, they create a visual rhythm that feels alive and always moving. The color palette is anchored by Vibrant Purple, surrounded by lively tones like orange, green, and blue, inspired by the colors of modern urban life. Typography plays a key role in the tone of voice. Nova Klasse brings a sense of confidence and movement, while Karla adds warmth and approachability. The balance of the two creates a system that feels energetic, friendly, and full of discovery — just like the brand itself. The Approach I started by researching how most movement apps talk to users, all numbers, goals, and competition. Roama needed to feel more human. Using the brand tone “The Enthusiastic Explorer,” I designed visuals and language that invite people to join in rather than compete. Every curve, color, and word was shaped to feel welcoming, dynamic, and full of life. The final outcome is a brand that celebrates movement, curiosity, and connection, turning every step, ride, or route into a shared adventure.
